Black Voters, Red Wave: A Renaissance of Political Power

The Harlem Renaissance was more than an artistic explosion; it was a cultural awakening, a bold declaration of Black excellence, and a transformative moment in American history. Much like that era, the 2024 election marked a political renaissance within the Black community—a surge of independent thought, unapologetic agency, and an undeniable shift in the political landscape. It was this awakening that compelled me to write a new powerful and thought-provoking book, Black Voters, Red Wave: Decoding the Rise of Donald Trump’s Black Support.

I wrote this book for three critical reasons: to clarify, to encourage, and to awaken. First, I sought to clarify the credible and compelling reasons Black support for Donald Trump doubled in 2024, supported by data that dispels myths and challenges narratives. Second, I aimed to encourage Black Trump supporters to embrace this pivotal moment and walk confidently in their newfound political power. Finally, I felt an urgency to highlight the broader awakening within the Black voter class—an awakening that demands recognition, respect, and response from all corners of the political spectrum.

This awakening is not a fleeting phenomenon; it is a force reshaping the fabric of American democracy. Just as the poets, musicians, and intellectuals of the Harlem Renaissance challenged societal norms and expanded the boundaries of possibility, so too are Black voters today defying expectations and demanding a seat at every political table. This movement is not about partisanship but about power—power to shape policies, influence platforms, and prioritize the prosperity of our American communities.

The doubling of Black support for Trump from 2020 to 2024 did not occur in a vacuum. It was fueled by frustration with decades of unfulfilled promises, coupled with a growing recognition of policies that resonated with economic empowerment, criminal justice reform, and school choice. These shifts were not merely political—they were deeply personal, rooted in a desire for progress and prosperity. The data tells a story of transformation, and my book aims to illuminate that story with precision and purpose.

To my fellow Black Trump supporters: this is our moment. Walk boldly in your beliefs. Wield your political power with wisdom and conviction. The courage to stand against the current is not for the faint of heart, but it is the precursor to change. Let this movement be a mandate to build bridges, foster dialogue, and advocate for policies that benefit all Americans, especially those in marginalized communities.

This political awakening is a clarion call that cannot be ignored. It is a reminder that the Black voter class is not monolithic but multifaceted, not stagnant but dynamic. Just as the Harlem Renaissance left an indelible mark on American culture, this political renaissance has the potential to redefine the trajectory of our nation.

In the Bible, the story of Gideon resonates deeply with this moment. Gideon, though initially hesitant, was called to lead a small, underestimated group to victory against overwhelming odds. Like Gideon, Black Trump supporters may feel outnumbered or overlooked, but they are part of a divinely orchestrated movement with the power to shift history.

Black Voters, Red Wave: Decoding the Rise of Donald Trump’s Black Support is not just a book—it is a beacon. It is a testament to the resilience, resourcefulness, and rising influence of the Black voter class. Together, we are penning a new chapter in the story of America, one where our voices are heard, our power is felt, and our impact is undeniable.
